AAA (No. 15): Purple Whimsy ATCs

Posted on

This was my final art project for Amateur Art in August, August 30th. It was for a free themed Artist Trading Cart (or ATC) swap from Swap-bot.com and I was experimenting with my watercolors. Believe it or not, both cards were made using only one color. The color just happened to change from a deep purple to a purplish pink the more you added water to it (which I found fascinating).

What Medium: Watercolor paper, watercolor paints, paintbrush, glue, buttons

Estimated Time: Less than an hour

Big thanks again to Katelikestocreate over at Laptop on the Ironing Board for hosting Amateur Art in August! I hope next year I’ll be allowed to participate again, as it really has opened my eyes up to how much I love painting. AAA (No. 11): Blast From the Past

This is from August 21st. I decided to go in search of some of my old art supplies (from pre-baby and pre-marriage) in the boxes my delivered over the weekend and this is what I came across:

That’s markers, crayons, pastels, oil paints, acrylic paints, graphite sticks, drawing pencils (the ones that have a different lead intensity, for lack of a better term). Then of course there’s sketch pads, construction paper, watercolor paper, a few small canvases, and the likes. And among all of that was this:

Pieces of my work from high school that I didn’t have the heart to throw away. A lot of it was just simple pencil sketches and shading, a few items were concept works, some my playing with colored pencils. And if that weren’t enough, I also came across these (NSFW):
